After 27 years of marriage Bill and Melinda Gates are getting a divorce. Divorce is a lose/lose proposition; most of the time the big winners are the lawyers. But the story proves that Bill is a shrewd negotiator and was winning the whole time.
How do you say? Well personal matters aside it turns out Mr. Gates had an arrangement to vacation with his ex-girlfriend, Ann Winblad, every year at her place. And Melinda gave the okay to this. I will give Melinda kudos on being a dream wife for that one. It turns out that not only does he visit his ex regularly but she also gave advice to Bill to marry Melinda.
So maybe the real hero of this story is Bill’s ex, Ann Winblad. She is successful and even wanted to marry Bill at one time. When the relationship broke up she remained friends with Bill. Even becoming a trusted friend he would ask relationship advice from.
